Fun Health & Wellness Videos for Kids

Why did I Start CREATING Children’s Wellness Videos?

Since retiring from the ‘real’ work world, my husband and I often entertain our eleven grandkids. During the Covid lockdown, we would pick up some of the younger ones on our way to buying groceries. However, we didn’t feel comfortable exposing them to germs in the stores, so I usually stayed in the car and amused little ones that were still strapped into their car seats, while my husband shopped. That’s when I thought that fun health and wellness videos for kids would be both entertaining and educational for them.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Around the same time, I was trying to practice writing mini-stories that rhymed and hoped the stories would help perfect my writing skills for future children’s books. Writing stories based on a specific WELLNESS-RELATED THEME was my goal, like gratitude, giving, or strength, for example. Therefore, I started developing fun health and wellness videos for kids via the Pinterest Idea video software.

Videos Without Sound

These short wellness videos did not have sound, but I thought my grandkids would enjoy reading them with me. I would often read these stories to our younger grandkids in the car or via Zoom. Their reactions were awe-inspiring, and I loved seeing them swipe my phone and try to read the story back to me. It was a great way to determine their reading level and also their understanding of the wellness-related concepts.

Schools Became Interested

Once I shared these fun health and wellness videos for kids on social media sites, my videos started getting the attention of school districts that were FOCUSING ON THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS of their students and staff. This encouragement led me to create more and more videos. Soon, I had requests to try to convert these videos into a YouTube format.

While I sometimes share the Pinterest Videos with our grandkids, I no longer create new ones using that software. These fun ‘read-aloud’ wellness videos for kids are still available on my Pinterest site, along with kid’s healthy recipes.

New YouTube Videos Have Music and Childrens’ Voices

The new health and wellness videos for kids on my YouTube channel are set to music, and the grandkids enjoy doing the voices for them. My oldest grandson does most of the technical work for them.

Fun Fact About Me - Brilliant Banana Bread Minis

Fun Fact About Me – I love to eat and enjoy CREATING healthy recipes!

I never liked to cook, but I do LOVE to eat! Devouring my mom’s cooking when I was growing up and my husband’s cooking (and grilling) throughout our marriage, I really didn’t need to learn to cook. However, I did cook basic food for our family but didn’t really enjoy doing it.

Enjoy Cooking Now

Also, I had to eat differently due to some health concerns, so I finally learned how to cook using healthier food. Guess what? Now, I enjoy cooking. Because I changed my eating habits, my taste and smell are vibrant today.

Love to Taste & Smell Yummy Things

Perhaps that was one reason why I didn’t enjoy cooking all those years. I couldn’t enjoy a tasteful nibble, here and there, or that waft that now fills my kitchen when I bake or cook something new. While I couldn’t tell that my taste and smell were altered until several months later when I noticed that I could taste and smell things. Since then, I take great joy in smelling fresh-cut grass, a clover-filled field, or something wonderful in the kitchen.

One of My Favorite Healthy Recipes

Brilliant Banana Bread Minis  is one of the first delicious gluten-free and dairy-free breads that I learned to make. I use this recipe to make mini-breads, muffins, or mini-muffins. Cranberries and nuts are my favorite add-in. Now, I make this recipe at least once per month, and DOUBLE the batch each time. The grandkids devour it and have learned how to make it too!

Check this recipe out and other healthy gluten-free and dairy-free recipes on my Pinterest site, Kids Healthy Recipes. It’s so easy for kids to make and has healthy ingredients too!
