The Kids Kindness Series is Born
For many years, I worked for an agency where part of my job was explaining tough problems to families and community partners in a way that would generate immediate action towards positive outcomes for children. After retirement, I wanted to devote time into sharing mental health concerns with children in an uplifting and informative way. I found that these medical conditions were not easily explained to them. The idea for the Kids Kindness Series was born.
Picture Books as Tools
I wanted to develop a tool that parents, caregivers, and educators could use to start empathy, kindness, and inclusion conversations with kids at an early age. Educational and entertaining picture books could be that tool.
My new picture books in the Kids Kindness Series not only rhyme, they have adorable characters who are managing a specific condition in an admirable way. The books help explain the main symptoms of each condition and encourage empathy, kindness, and inclusion from others.
Facts About Each Condition
They have valuable facts designed in a creative way that help define each condition and provide hope and encouragement for children. I hope you enjoy them and will share these important conversations with your kids.
Multi-Age Use
I’ve been told that my picture books in the Kids Kindness Series have been useful for explaining conditions to adults too. I’m proud to share these multi-age picture books with you! (That rhymed! smile…)
Kids Kindness Series books on autism, dementia, and depression are coming soon. See my website, www.gracelynkeyskids.com/books#kidskindness, for updates about the Kids Kindness Series.

Fun Fact About Me
I married my high school sweet-heart!
We continue to support and encourage each other’s CREATIVE endeavors. We’ve been together for over 40 years now. We married while we were in college, and then started our family right away. Our first jobs were for a local grocery store chain, then we moved on to our professional careers, and now pursue other CREATIVE projects and travel in our retirement.
Our Family is Huge
We have three amazing kids, who have families of their own now. With eleven grandkids so far, we are proud and engaged grandparents since our early forties. They often tickle our funny bones!
Creative Endeavors
We enjoy doing CREATIVE projects with them, spending quiet or boisterous time with them, and attending their school and sporting events. They are my best story reviewers and provide honest feedback on them.
Our Favorite Escape
Escaping to our northern Michigan cottage is one of our favorite things to do. We enjoy magnificent rainbows and fireworks over Mackinac Island every summer.
